Emma Kate Freatman
Emma Kate Freatman, LPC, earned her undergraduate degree from Miami University, where she studied Psychology, Family Studies, and Art History. She has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University, where she graduated with honors and won the Connecticut Counseling Associations Graduate Student of the Year Award and Department Chair's Award. Prior to expanding her private practice, Emma Kate most recently worked for Silver Hill Hospital, where she was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. While working for Silver Hill, Emma Kate managed, developed and facilitated intensive outpatient groups for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction, mood disorders, trauma, and emotion dysregulation.
Emma Kate maintains an affiliation with Silver Hill as a contractor providing trauma therapy for transitional living patients. Prior to working for Silver Hill, Emma Kate worked for Kids in Crisis, an agency focused on family reunification amid family crises and homelessness. Emma Kate has also counseled clients at Center for Discovery and Catholic Charities Behavioral Health. Emma Kate has supported clients in their most vulnerable times, and has invaluable experience in both managing crises, and providing long-term therapeutic support. Emma Kate specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, and their families. She maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Wilton, CT where she offers individual therapy, family meetings, and skills groups for young adults.
