I received my bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Scranton in 2017. Shortly after joining the business world, I realized I was not making the impact I wanted to – or a very positive impact on society, in fact. I’m mostly joking – but most of my days working in a finance office were spent thinking about how I could be doing more for humanity and what the path would look like to get there.

This led to my first career change; I became a teacher and found myself working in early childhood education at Neighborhood Charter Schools in the Bronx, NY. The two years I spent teaching at this school were the most rewarding and valuable years of my life thus far.  I was able to build deep connections with many of the students I worked with as well as learn and grow with my peers. I was exposed to new communities that were vastly different from where I grew up in Wilton, CT and these experiences have enriched me as a person and future provider.

As much as I enjoyed teaching, I still felt something was missing for me. I hated reading and math as a child, but I was trying to inspire a love for it… what I really wanted to do was inspire kids to be happy, emotionally healthy beings that are equipped with the tools to navigate challenges and obstacles life may throw at them. I saw a future in Social Work, a career focused on helping people. This led me to take a step back from teaching to pursue a master’s degree in social work. I would be remiss if I did not mention that a good friend of mine and an incredible mentor, Tracey Masella, nudged me in the right direction.

Shortly after my final career change, I came across the opportunity to work at the Krasner Adolescent Institute.  My invaluable experience in the education field has put me in an incredible position to help adolescents navigate complex problems. Joining the institute and pursuing my master’s degree in social work at Fordham University will only propel me further into success in the social work field. The conversations that I have in the classroom are also of immense value and bring another perspective into the office, which is already full of brilliant minds. I am excited to finish my degree, learn from the amazing people I work with, and make the impact I have been searching to make since finishing up my first degree.

Aside from wanting to help people and make the world a better place I enjoy music, skateboarding, the beach, playing fetch with my cat, and spending time with my wife.
